All is set for the completion of payment of outstanding debts by the Cross River state government to Farmers who participated in the NorthFest 2019 from Monday 20th- Wednesday 22nd April 2020.
The government through the Director General of Due Process and Price Intelligence, Barr Alphonsus Ogar Eba in a Press Release has directed farmers who were affected to open Bank Accounts for those with outstanding balance of over N100,000 while others with lower amounts are to proceed to the Ayade Industrial Park North, Opposite Army Barracks Ogoja / Yala from 9AM-5PM daily.

Monday 20th April :
Ukelle and Western Yala Wards
Tuesday 21st April :
Yache, Gabu and Echumofana wards
Wed. 22nd April :
Ugaga and Okuku wards.
"Those with verifiable Bank accounts are to reach Mr Odey John Ohiero 08036014902 SSA to the Governor on Works or Mr Joseph Odey Ohiero 08065899395 SA to Governor on Farm City Development or Mr Mark Uguge Odey 08034003700 SA to the Governor on New Cities Development for clearance and payment."
The State government had earlier in December 2019 released the sum of One hundred Million Naira for payment of Yam tubers, Yellow maize, soybeans, garri, benesseed, melon etc farmers who participated in the event but were yet to complete payment for some other food products that were supplied by farmers.
Also, "sharing of COVID-19 Food items will be done through representatives of each village such as Chiefs, Community Youths and Women leaders."
"COVID-19 food items are meant for everyone irrespective of political, religious, tribal or ethnic affiliations."
"Wearing of Nose Mask is compulsory and social distancing must be Fully observed please" the statement read in parts.
