Earlier today, the "HOPE FOR YOUNG INITIATIVES (HYi), a youth based organization took it upon itself to go round Oba and Olachor communities of Yala Local Government Area of Cross River state to sensitize the people on the need to take precautionary measures against the Coronavirus pandemic, even as cross River state still maintains a zero record of the pandemic.
The group taught the rural dwellers the various precautionary measures against COBID-19, ranging from the use of hand sanitizers, nose mask and regular washing of hands with soap and running water.
Sanitizers and nose mask were shared to those present at different locations, the group further advised them to purchase more sanitizers and used improvised Nose masks as directed by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) and the Cross River State Government as they await other palliatives from both the federal and state government.
Meanwhile the Team appreciated the Governor of Cross river state, HE. prof Ben Ayade and the commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu for their effort so far to keep the state at zero level and also solicited for government to reach out to those in the rural areas with their palliatives, to help them cope better in obeying the "No Mask no Movement" order.
The group also thanked, Mr Charles offocboche (Founder of Charles Offoboche Foundation) and Mr Daniel Riwo(CEO, VOICE OF YALA) for their support to the organization for procurement of the palliative.
HYI is an organization founded by a group of young graduates and Undergraduates which include Mr Godwin Onah, Miss faith Ipuole, okwori Mary amicable, and Lydia yegraowo okache all of yala Origin.
