To understand the true meaning of political nurturing, mentoring, grassroots mobilization,motivation and mediation, you need to take a tripe to the office of Alhaji (Dr.) Bello Al-Adam,even if it as an unscheduled visit you will understand what it means to be the bridge between those on the streets, those at the grassroots, the foot soldiers, I mean the real voters and those you may call the ruling class or the elites.
A father who understands how the young people feel and always try to reduce himself to the level of their age to see things from their perspectives and take their opinions to be able to guide them properly on every issue challenging them, he reduces himself to the level of the ordinary man to understand their real feelings not withstanding his highly placed class in the society.
Bello Al-Adam makes himself available to listen to influx of original FCT indigenes with clump of problems in what seems an endless list of people waiting to see him on daily routine in his widely open office where he communicates, persuades,convinces and consolidates the policies of the government as they affect the the indigenes of FCT, he has mediated between the FCT and the government on fundamental issues in the past, masses of the indigenes have called on him in the past to represent them in political offices including that of a local government chairman because they know he touches the grassroots directly.
Little wonder there are agitations from the original indigenes of FCT against their non inclusion in the ministerial appointments and little wonder many of them are saying they are asking for a man after their heart, known to them ,familiar with their challenges and part of their daily living.
And little wonder the masses of FCT and known voices including the present Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council(AMAC) has advocated that the FCT should be represented in the ministerial appointment by appointing someone resident in FCT, many of the indegenes have also openly declared that they want no other than Bello Al-Adam who has consistently and continuously lived and worked in and for the FCT for decades, contributed in the development of FCT that a long road was named after him on demand of the indigenes to perpetually appreciate his dogged and selfless contributions to better their lives, there is no gainsaying the fact Bello Al-Adam is the man the FCT indigenes are expecting to represent their slot at the cabinet of President Buhari also considering the fact that only Bello and few other individuals invested their resources,time,intellectual properties,and the security risk of standing the opposition in the FCT.
It is a universally settled fact that politics is a venture of all inclusiveness, in another sense, elections are won on the premise of numbers in a liberal and universal adult suffrage kind of democracy especially in Nigeria where elections are keenly and fiercely contested. This establishes the fact that the persons who should be valued when it comes to winning elections in Nigeria are those with the capacities, backgrounds, tolerance, sacrifices and charisma to gather and maintain resourceful, vibrant, energetic, well oriented and powerful teaming groups like what Bello did for the APC especially in the FCT
This above narrative denotes that party members, loyalists and leaders who are like Bello are very rare and scarce to find, those who match their words with proportionate actions without making loud noise about it and even most times will not even say a word but carries out mighty works for the party.
It is conspicuously established beyond contention that many strategic and key roles undertook by Alhaji (Dr.) Bello Al-Adam was among those earth shaking roles that brought victory to President Muhammadu Buhari and the entire All Progressives Congress (APC). Months before the general elections the gentle and powerful giant Bello expended huge fortunes on mighty and prominent bill boards passing the hopeful message of the re-election of Buhari, the foots soldiers of this Grand Commander called Bello Al-Adam in followership to their leader dominated the media space both on the conventional National newspapers and social media, penetrated everywhere campaigning vigorously and passionately for President Buhari and APC for the victory that later came.
Pursuant to Article 7 (xii) of the Constitution of the APC “To promote social, political and economic freedoms and the general welfare of the people, with a view to permanently ensuring the establishment of peace, freedom, dignity of labour, equity, fraternity and happiness for the people of Nigeria” and in accordance with the laudable position of President Muhammadu Buhari to reward loyalty and hard work as well as in conformity with Equity, Natural Justice and Good Conscience, beyond reasonable contentions Dr. Bello Al-Adam deserves to be appointed to serve under this current government with a prominent portfolio, he worked for it and he merits it.
If there are people who deserve to serve under this government Bello should be counted at the topmost order, this is because we are looking at building an APC where the majority of her members and supporters are happy, an APC that will not struggle to win the 2023 Presidential election or worse loose to the frontally attacking opposition, God forbid!
Dr. Bello is a Warlord of many warriors who fought and won the presidential election which ushered in our amiable president of unimpeachable integrity, President Muhammadu Buhari into his second tenure in office, Bello Al-adam is a shepherd of many sheep and an unassuming grand commander of the victorious foot soldiers who took different levels of risks on the streets, at the polling units and collation centers to protect this victory.
All the groups that amalgamated from different ethnic divides in Nigeria to form a common front for the sake of speaking in one voice for the successful re-election of President Buhari were all bemused when we did not see Bello among the ministerial nominees but we know that the President in his wisdom shall bring remedy to the situation in a manner that shall bring happiness to all of us especially also given the fact that a huge defect, the non inclusion of the FCT in the Ministerial appointment shall be laid to rest by the appointment of Bello Al-Adam.
We are appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari and all our respectable leaders to appoint Alhaji (Dr.) Bello Al-Adam to serve in this current government as this shall ultimately be for the good of the party, all Nigerians and humanity at large.
We wish President Muhammadu Buhari, our party leaders and the entire APC family a very successful and remarkable second tenure while we continue to stand firmly with unflinching loyalty and love for our epitome of good governance and eminent moralist President Muhammadu Buhari.
