Two communities in yala local government area, Itega Okpame and Oba communities have been thrown into war over a land dispute.
The clash which commenced yesterday has so far claimed about 6 lives and left many injured. One of those killed has been identified as Odibu
In a series of reprisal attacks by both communities, young men were seen coming out of bushes in the area with dead bodies of their brothers.
The land in dispute is said to have been seeded to Itega community by a high court and also by an appeal court after the judgement was challenged.
In a phone conversation with the member representing yala 1 state constituency, Hon Regina Anyogo she told our correspondent that Military personnels have been mobilized to the Waring communities and normalcy will be returned to the area.
Also the Senior special assistant to the Governor on enlightenment, Chief Angela Ogeyi Odey has taken a very heroic step by entering into the warring area with a
placard and could be heard via a video pleading with her brothers to stop the killing.
Mostly Women and children have taken refuge in the play ground of both communities.
