The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has assented to a bill sponsored by Hon Legor Idagbo of Bekwara/Obudu/Obanliku federal constituency of Cross River State which seeks to fight against the discrimination of persons with disabilities.
Business and cooperate organizations are by this notice given a 5 year transmission period to modify their facilities to support Persons with disabilities.
The Bill, imposes fines of N100,000 and N1,000,000 respectively for individuals and corporate bodies or a Six months prison term among others.
Hon Legor Idagbo was reelected in the recently conducted National Assembly elections for another 4 year tenure
