The Cross River State Director General for Due process and price intelligence bureau Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba today 28th January, 2019 led a group of lawyers, youths and Civil Society organisation numbering in their thousands to say no to the unlawful suspension of Justice Walter Onnenghen.
Barr Eba and the group first stormed the court room of the Code of Conduct where justice Danladi's led panel was supposed to sit but waited for over two hours without the justice appearing before disembarking from the court room for the streets.
While speaking to newsmen, the DG said ''I owe my self and Nigeria a duty as a lawyer, activist and Youth Leader to always stand up against any act of intimidation, abuse of human right , leadership Impunity,Lawlessness,disrespect to the Rule of Law and Principles of Separation of Powers no matter who is involved.
"Leading Thousands of Lawyers, Youths and Civil Society Organization to say No to the growing culture of Disrespect to the Rule of Law I felt fulfilled doing things I love dearly".
Hon.Barrister Alphosus Ogar Eba Esq. and his team has also joined the nationwide protest against the president's move to suspend the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN Onnoghen over asset declaration case which is still on trial.
The Nigeria Bar Association has declared that all lawyers will be absent from court rooms nationwide on tuesday and Wednesday.
