I think this campaign of hatred and wickedness should end. 95% of things circulated on social media about Dr Betta Edu are all lies.
Dr Betta Edu is one of the most hardworking and accessible Government appointee. This is one Government appointee I know who does not have two lines, picks all calls, works from 7:30am till late at night sometimes 10pm. Monday to Sunday no break! As a DG primary Health Care, there is no village she didn’t visit in this state, she touched so many lives and our local people in communities can attest to these, this beautiful lady will sleep in villages for three days to fix a dilapidated Primary health center in 72 hours!! In less than three months of being a Commissioner for Health she has changed the face of General Hospital calabar, Ogoja and Even Ugep receiving Commendations even from traditional rulers.
You don’t need any protocol to see Dr Betta Edu, her doors are always open. This is one appointee who will welcome your suggestions, listen to you and support you all through.
She pays fees for every pupils in public schools in her ward Adadama, Abi. Every day she supports young students to stay in school. We can’t count the number of families she has supported to set up small businesses and do well. She picked a child and a teenage mother 4 years ago and has basically changed their stories and sustained them thus far.
She is one simple person who will come to a place and greet everyone, laugh with everyone and listen to every one!
In the midst of all these wickedness and hate I have sat back to ask what exactly did Betta Do wrong?... I have tried to ask some people talking about it but no one seem to know what exactly she did wrong. Even the things mentioned, I have asked for their proof but no one has it, it has just been a case of them say, this one said, that one said!
Betta is not the one to set up a Lab. NCDC is, if they didn’t prioritize Cross River State, how is it the poor ladies fault? We must stop this attitude of destroying our best hands on the alter of sentiments and lies!
Age should not be a deterrent to any promotion. Look at progressive countries around the world, they have “young” according to some “inexperienced” leaders but they are doing so well!
I think it’s time to start a new campaign, I think it's time to join hands with Her and give her our Support in any way we can.
Don't forget the Bible says Fear is a torment and if we keep promoting fear in a time like this, rather than looking for ways to manage the pandemic facing us, we won't go anywhere in terms of results.
Don't kill your own Dr. Betta she mean well and gradually we will get it right.
