Water board:Ayade inaugurates 14-member Board of Directors



A 14-member strong Board of Directors for the Cross River State Water Board Limited has been inaugurated with the charge to ensure a smooth and regular supply of clean water to members of the public/clients.

Giving the charge while performing the inauguration, Governor Ben Ayade, through the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Godwin Ettah, charged them to ensure that all broken pipies that have not been fixed are fixed including other repairs for provision of water to the public.

The Water Resources Commissioner who was accompanied by the Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Asuquo Ekpeyong Jr. thanked the Governor, Sen Prof Ben Ayade for the opportunity giving them to serve the people of the state and explained that since assumption of office, he and his team have worked hard to resolve some of the teething challenges of Water Board with the support of the governor.

"We are not 100% there yet, because we had a lot of broken down pipes, a lot of maintenance to be done. We have started maintenance and those who have water so far, shows that we have fixed their broken down pipes," Hon. Ettah maintained.

The Commissioner tasked the newly inaugurated Board of Directors of Water Board to work as a team to take water to the door steps of Cross Riverians and other users in the state.

Stressing further, Hon Godwin stated "with the Inauguration which has taken place today, the Board and the MD will work hand in hand with the monitoring and supervision department of the Ministry of Water Resources to ensure Cross Riverians have enough water and that is what the Governor, Senator Professor Ben Ayade want to see and with the Cooperation of Cross Riverians, the people are going to have water like they'have never had before," Ettah concluded.

Speaking, the Managing Director of CRSWBL, Chief Victor Ekpo Victor, assured the Public that with the energetic team of Directors, everyone should expect uninterrupted water supply, while thanking the Governor,  Senator Professor Ben Ayade for all the support given to Cross River state Water Board.

He assured the Governor that he will do everything in his power to ensure the team of Directors never fails Him and that Cross Riverians should expect a different Water Board with the right spirit of changing the water story in the state.

Chief Ekpo, therefore called on Cross Riverians to Cooperate with the Water Board, stating that it's never going to be Business as usual, as a lot of measures have been put in place to ensure that those who default in payments of bills and illegal bypass of meters are brought to book.

Those inaugurated as the CRSWBL Directors include, the Chairman Board of directors, Dr Godwin Ibile, Chief Victor Effiom Ekpo, Managing Director, Hon Mike Ogar, member, Pastor J. E. Enoh, Member, Mr Kingsley Oka Oji member , Hon Bar Idi Yakubu, member.

 Alternate members by virtue of their position consist of, Honorable Commissioner for Water Resources or his representatives, Honorable Commissioner for Justice or his Representative and Honorable Commissioner for Finance or his Representative.
