Losing someone is never easy and having to live life without your partner is even harder. For women all over the world, the loss is even bigger as they have to struggle for their basic needs, rights and dignity.

Touched by the alarming and unfair treatment of widows especially in Africa, the Founder of The Akpanke Foundation (TAF), Mr Peter Akpanke through a message from his media aide, called on everyone to join the campaign against the unjust maltreatment of widows.

 He described the unfair treatment on widows  as evil,  barbaric and tormenting. He solicited that more respect be accorded to widows especially those struggling to meet the needs of their families.  "its not easy to Survive the challenges of loosing a husband" Mr Peter said


He went further to commend United nations for  setting aside  a special day to celebrate widows yearly.  Acknowledging the importance of the international widows day celebration,  the philanthropist maintained that the day was important as it brings about awareness among the public the problems that widows face all over the world. "It is a time to reflect on the progress that has been made, and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women. It is also a day to draw the attention of people to take action and provide full rights and recognition for widows." He added 

He enjoined all to stay safe and maintain International best practices of disease prevention  until the war against the current Pandemic is over.
