Big shame on the southern politicians. We keep fighting, dragging ourselves to the mud while the north keep laughing and making good use of the opportunity. Check out the major Political crisis in recent time how many came from the North and how many was recorded and will still be recorded from the south.
Oshiomohle and Obaseki were fighting we were applauding, celebrating, making jokes, now Oshiomohle is down as APC Chairman. Don't even tell me a southerner Ajimobi has been appointed is inconsequential to me as a south south man. When Obaseki was disqualified from contesting APC primaries for his reelection as Edo Governor many celebrated, concluded that Oshiomohle has won, here is Oshiomohle's fate. I refused to believe anyone has won until after the election and probably supreme Court judgement.
Oshiomohle visited Tinubu a Yoruba man, we hailed, mocked Obaseki that his own has finished. South south or Edo stakeholders couldn't call parties to order for the good of the masses. No! selfishness wouldn't allow for this. Obaseki also visited same Tinubu as if he's god yet the Lagos Jagaban stood with Oshiomohle for reason best known to him but to me for his selfish interest. Both Oshiomohle and Obaseki visited President Buhari while Oshiomohle had his way Obaseki was disqualified but today where's Oshiomohle as APC Chairman and where are those forces the aided him in Obaseki's disqualification. SELFISH INTEREST on the alter of divide and gain/rule.
Another southern Governor, Nyesome Wike was angrily talking tough, making drastic decisions that could help him lead his people well due to FG bias and nepotic treatment of some States mostly South south (the nation sustainers) and south East states, most of us in the south were attacking Wike, calling him names, saying he was always attacking the FG without taking into consideration his worries. They said who wears the shoes knows where it pinches.
What of Imo state, Bayelsa State nkor, they tried it in Akwa Ibom thanks to the bravery of Akwa Ibom politicians that plays their people oriented Politics always. There's rancor, disunity in almost all south southern states yet no stakeholders will cough for harmony.
In my state, Cross River State, National Assembly members and the state Governor are in power tussle, no unity, no harmonious working relationship for the purpose development for the poor masses. And the poor masses keep hailing, cheering, clapping, taking sides, instigating, etc, not knowing that the battle is against them. Take it or leave it, none of these politicians will go hungry if him or her retired. The tussle is for their relevance and the future of their children, no body cares about the common man, if they do NASS members and Governors are supposed to be in good working synergy.
We hear chunk amount of money allocated to Niger Delta Development Commission (come-chop) (NDDC ) every year yet no meaningful development in the south south region. The heads are busy syphoning, looting, embezzling, stealing, clubbing, making merry with our future in NDDC, yet south south elders are watching because of course their share is reaching them adequately. What a pathetic situation.
I'm not an ethnic bigot BUT it is a shame on us fighting ourselves, the Hausas and Yorubas keep laughing at us from south south Nigeria. Apologies to my Hausa and Yoruba brothers but this matter has gotten to the level we have to advise ourselves no matter how tough a word we use.
