The Cross River State Security Adviser, SSA North to the Governor, Mr. Leo Inyambe, his assistant, Security assistant SA North, Mr. Joseph Wonah, the Community Relation Officer CRO of Ogoja LGA, Mr. Igbaji Modey, in collaboration with The Northern State surveillance team (Chairman, Mr Slyvester Okongor Eruma), all ogoja unit chairmen, and Nigeria Police DPO of Ogoja has embarked on fight against cultism in the Northern Senatorial district of the Cross River state.
The group started the raiding against cultism yesterday at Hausa Quarter, Igoli Ogoja, sequel to Sen. Prof Ben Ayade's zero tolerance for cultism in the state. The raid continues to other LGAs in Northern Cross River State.
Leo stated that, the incessant activities of cultism in Cross River State is alarming and must be contained for development to thrive in the State. He commended the Governor Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for his zero tolerance for cultism in the state and promises to secure and by the grace of God make Cross River North safe and secured for development to thrive.
The team paid a courtesy visit to the traditional rulers in Ogoja before taking to the cultists hideout, and has recorded tremendous successes with the information made available to them by the traditional rulers. The team also used the opportunity to share nose masks and hand sanitizer to cushion the spread of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
