...Over 200 farmers benefit..
Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) Cross River State headed by the Digital Governor of of Cross River State, Gov Ben Ayafe through the SSA to the Governor on Rice Project, Chief Hon. Mrs Theresa Ngozi Ezama JP and her team which include the secretary to RIFAN in Cross River State Mr. Joseph odey and the Yala Coordinator, Prince Simon Ube on Monday distributed farm implements and inputs to over 200 Yala rice farmers.
While Mrs Ezama JP expressed appreciations to Gov Ayade who she said in his magnanimity remembered that she is from a rice farming zone like Yala and assigned her to oversee the affairs of rice farmers.
She also encourage farmers that the input that is being given to them is to Foster bumper harvest to feed the Rice Mill so as to make food available for the nation.
She also called for unity amongst farmers, declaring that poverty is buried in Cross River State through the agro industrialisation programme of the digital governor.
Below are the list of input given to Farmers
1. Four bags of fertilizer
2. Four rubber of herbicide
3. Two litre of insecticide
4. Two litre of organic chemical
5. A spreying machine
It was gatheree that each ward in Yala had their representatives who organized the collation of data and collection of inputs.
The process continue, which it learnt will continue going forward has excited farmers, who expressed satisfaction and showered praised on the initiative of governor. The farmers on their part also assured that they will use the implements and input for a higher yield in the coming harvest season.
