MY BIRTHDAY AND THE UNITY OF YALA NATION
My dear people of Yala Nation, from Yache to Gabu, Echumofana to Okuku, Ugaga to Okpoma to Ooh to Yahe, from Nfuma Ntrigon to Igede, to the entire Ukelle, I humbly announce that today is my "Birthday" and I have thought it wise to reflect, reminisce and re-examine "The UNITY OF YALA NATION" irrespective of tribe or political leaning.
May I start by expressing my profound appreciations to God for the gift of life and another year. And for connecting us all together in the geographic location now called Yala.
Unity is indispensable to every healthy human society, thus its absence creates a yearning lacuna in the collective life of the people. Yala as a nation used to be known for an unequalled unity. Though even today,this unity still exists but not in the same magnitude as it used to be. It is gradually wearing away.
The desire to go back to the authentic unity inspired this message. It is ultimately intended to bring YALA nation together--dialectical and locational chauvinism, politics and the crazy quest for wealth and power among other factors that are setting us apart, we cannot fold our alms and watch this monster called disunity, destroy our land, for it is only a mad man that can sleep with his roof on fire. Hence the need to come together, join our hands and revitalise this unity that's in the state of coma; for if we must develop our Land, we must work as a collective entity.
Perhaps, that providence is fair to Yala nation with both human and natural resources is an indubitable fact, unfortunately the maximum utilization of these resources cannot be effectuated when the require unity Is no longer there.
The rate of depreciation of the original unity of Yala nation is so high that we find it difficult to come together to plan for any meaningful development,even Yala social media influencers hardly agree with themselves. In the days of the old, unity was the hallmark and strength of our forefathers.
Regrettably, we the decendant of Yala nation is gradually loosing grip of the bond of unity that our fore Fathers envisioned and struggled to established.
It is no longer news that our sense of oneness is disappearing. The some what ethnic differences, which is supposed to be a mark of identity and common action has turned into a monster that is preventing Yala nation from sustaining the unity it is known for.
Unfortunately the Yala nation of today is becoming a product of sectionalism, tribalism and individualism. This ugly development is stalling the political and socioeconomic growth of Yala society.
Experience has shown in different part of the world that tribalism, sectionalism and individualism are serious social problems which inhibit authentic growth and development in human society .The promotion of this against the communal identity of Yala Nation is yielding to the promotion of greed, selfishness, division, indifference to the needs of others, lack of cultural growth to mentioned but few.
For Yala to achieve it's vision we must be ready to get rid of this malady and embrace her original unity. We must therefore join hands together and break every iron wall that keeps us apart.
Let no knife be strong enough to pass through the curd that binds Yala nation together. It is only then that we can be assured of the future we all yearn and long for.
In view of the above and in the spirit of the joy of today and the years ahead, I use this medium to extend my sincere apologies to all leaders and friends who in the course of my engagement felt slighted and offended. With every sense of responsibility and humility, I am sorry.
Let's unite for a peaceful, loving and prosperous Yala.
