The Cross River state government has announced the decentralization of the registration process for the 8,000 state jobs recruitment exercise following outcry from the citizens.
According to a Press Release signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicty to Gov Ayade, Mr Christian Ita, intending applicants are directed to input their names through their community heads.

"In view of the surging and massive crowds witnessed in the last two days of registration for the 8000 automatic jobs announced by His Excellency, Sir Ben Ayade, the state government, out of concerns for public health safety, is constrained to announce the decentralization of the exercise."
Accordingly:
1. "All registration for the automatic job placement will now be at the village square level, arising from family unit/playground.
2. Names originating from the various family units are to be collated by village heads and forwarded to a local government coordinator that will be appointed by the COVID-19 Response Task Force."
"3. The list will be verified and authenticated by the paramount rulers of each local government area and submitted to the COVID-19 Response Task Force.
4. Selected persons will be invited to an all expense paid induction course in Calabar in batches."
"5. After conclusion of the induction exercise, the selected persons will then be posted to their area of interest."
"Please note that the salary to be earned will be tax free as it falls within the range of income exempted from tax by the state tax exemption law."
