Katsina state Police Command said it has succeeded in killing a notorious bandit named Abubakar Nayabale and arrested one Tanimu Salisu of Zakka village of Safana Local Government Area of the state, after serious gun battle.
The command also rescued one kidnapped victim and recovered two Boxer motorcycles in same operation.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the state police spokesman, Gambor Isah and made available to LEADERSHIP, saying at about 15:00hrs some suspected bandits numbering eight (8) on motorbikes, armed with AK 47 rifles, shooting sporadically, attacked Kumare village, Kurfi LGA of the state and kidnapped one Yahaya Tella, aged 55yrs of the same address.
“Operation Puff Adder led by the DPO Kurfi in collaboration with Vigilante group swiftly responded to the scene and engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel.
“The team succeeded and killed one Abubakar Nayabale, a notorious bandit, arrested another notorious bandit one Tanimu Salisu, of Zakka village, Safana LGA of Katsina state, rescued the victim and recovered two Boxer motorcycles. One member of the Vigilante lost his life during the encounter”, he explained
SP Isah further stated that Investigation is ongoing as suspect is making revealing useful information.
