INEC: Cross River state gets new REC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission chairman, Prof. Mamood Yakubu has deployed a new Residential Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Dr. Alalibo Johnson, to the state.
Alalibo Johnson from Bayelsa State and Umar Mukhtar Gajiram from Borno State were both sworn-in on Monday in INEC Headquarters, Abuja following their screening and confirmation by the Nigerian Senate recently.
Their appointments as RECs were as a result of the vacancies that exist in two states of the federation.
Whereas Johnson was posted to Cross River State, Gajiram was posted to Taraba State.
Dr. Johnson takes over from Dr. Frankland Briyai the immediate past REC for Cross River State who resigned to contest as governor in last year’s Bayelsa State guber election.
