The University Of calabar governing council has confirmed the appointment of Ambassador Jammy Gabriel Egbe as the substantive registrar of the institution.
Jammy who was previously the deputy Registrar will be taking over from Mr Moses Abang.
On graduation from the university in 1992, Amb. Gabriel Egbe did his one year National Youth Service Scheme in Benue state. He served as Corp Liaison Officer for Apa Local Government Area. Back from service, Amb. Egbe had a brief career sojourn at IBB College of Agric (now CRUTECH) and later transferred his service to his Alma Mata, the University of Calabar in 1997.
He has risen steadily through the ranks and has held several positions of responsibility.
He was the Ag Head of Counselling Unit/Alumni Relations Officer, Administrative Officer in Students Affairs, Secretary, Students Orientation Committee for 7years, secretary of CUECO for 8years, Hall warden for 14years, Faculty Officer, Hall Administrator, etc. Amb. Egbe has served as secretary and/or member of over 46 Committees, Administrative Panels and Boards in the University.
Amb. Egbe is the founder and national chairman of CEDECOS, an NGO created to help the less privileged in the society. He is a Community Leader, and an Adviser to Yahe Youth Council. He is equally the Chairman, Ayi Yala community in UNICAL, Chairman, Northern Cross River Staff Forum, UNICAL.
Amb jammy who is a humanitarian has embarked on several projects including a rural electrification project in a community in yala local government area.
