Education has suffered in this our dear state and by extension, Nigeria at large.
An appraisal of Education in in the hands of two professors in Cross River state is a thing of great concern.
You will all agree with me that this administration has scored below average in the educational sector. Schools are vacating tomorrow Friday 19/07/19 and the State Ministry of Education have not been able to organize the SSS2 Mock and JSS3 Basic Education Certificate Examinations. The inability of the State Ministry of Education to conduct these examinations as at when due is posing a huge challenge on the students, teachers and school management.
This is gradually becoming a reoccurring decimal on the part of the State Government. History will not be fair to the administration of Prof. Sen. Ben Ayade. For instance, the 2014/2015 Cross River State Mock Examination(SS2) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE JSS3) were conducted in 2015/2016 academic session. The ones for 2015/2016 were conducted in 2016/2017 session and that of 2016/2017 which ought to have been conducted in June,2017 took place in August, 2017 during the long vacation.
Although the examinations for 2017/2018 session started in good time but was interrupted almost towards the end of the examinations. This was as a result of the strike action by the National Union of Teachers (NUT) Cross River State. Students and teachers had to come back again during the holidays to complete the examinations.

All indications shows that this year's own will end same way! I'm beginning to think that having two professors at the hem of governance in this state is a curse rather than a blessing to the educational sector of our state. Its a sad reality and a painful one indeed.
