C'R Assembly requests immediate Appointment of State Security Adviser, urges Doctors to resume work.


The Cross River state House of Assembly has urged the Governor, Sen prof Ben Ayade, to as a matter of urgency appoint a State Security Adviser to help curb the increasing state of insecurity in the state.

This recommendation was conveyed through a member of the House Rt. Hon. Okpechi Friday, Obubra 1
While reacting to a matter of 'urgent public interest" brought before the house after a Protest by Doctors earlier today at the State Assembly complex.

Okpechi said "The office of the State Security Adviser is an essential duty, let's not play politics with security, the Gov. has to appoint an SSA immediately Most importantly, Gov. should not appoint an SSA that's not a cultists because they always compromise"


Also contributing, Rt Hon Itam Abang of Boki 1 stated thus "I allign my voice to say enough of kidnapping because we do not know who'll be the next victim. To the doctors, we have heard your plight , we are in support of you, but please go back to safe lives, let's have our hospitals working.

If there's one group of people that should be protected are the medical doctors because they work while we sleep in our homes."

The leader of the House, Rt Hon Peter Odey, reminded the house on the need for the Governor to appoint a State Security Adviser who is a professional, he also spoke on the need to implement the anti kidnapping
Law passed by the 8th Assembly and pleaded with Doctors to resume work and safe lives.
