The Sickle Cell Community congratulates President Muhammadu Buhari on his inauguration for a second tenure. The community also sends its congratulations to the newly elected and returning Governors of States.
The community wishes them well as they embark on this four year journey towards making Nigeria great again.
The Community call on these leaders to take into recognition the challenges of Sickle Cell Disease and the persons living with it. The government should give more attention in terms of awareness, budgetary allocation and releases, health insurance friendly schemes, provision of sickle cell well equipped units in hospitals across the Nation to reduce the sickle cell burden.
