Yesterday the 14th of January, 2019, the atmosphere almost turned bloody in Okuku, yala LGA, as miscreants decided to distort the peace and calmness enjoyed by the people.
In the early hours of the morning, Some APC Supporters took laws into their hands by Pooling down all PDP Candidates Bill Boards within the famous round about at Okuku Junction.
In retaliation, PDP supporters also brought down some APC billboards within the area, It took a courageous effort by Barr Alphonsus Ogar Eba who was later joined by Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs Hon Stella Odey to calm this ugly trend and barbaric action.
He addressed the angered PDP supporters to stay Calm despite the unwanted provocation.
In his words, "if they challenge you to a fight, turn it down and don't respond. Be Peaceful in your campaign but don't be intimidated as you go about your constitutional rights."
My Question for whoever initiated or carried out this barbaric and evil plan is," Does billboard win election or even cast vote in the first place?"
Barr Alphonsus also advised all campaigns to be issue based, also speaking, the Commissioner for women Affairs said "the youths should stop whatever action or actions that will deplete or undermine Our Hard Earned Peace".
