Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (CR-SUBEB), has commenced handing over of sites for 2017 UBE Intervention Projects to Contractors across the State.
Consequently, Sixty-nine new projects of construction/rehabilitation of classroom blocks and motorised boreholes will commence in schools across the State.
The Executive Chairman, Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Stephen Odey stated that, the exercise was in line with the Universal Basic Education Commission’s (UBEC) vision of transforming the face of Basic Education in the Country.
He added that, Governor Ben Ayade was passionate about this course, hence, the need for model schools in the State.
Some of the sites that were handed over include; St. John P/S, Wanikade, Yala LGA, St. Mary’s P/S, Ekajuk-Ogoja LGA, Community Secondary School, Idum Mbube, Ogoja LGA, Igbo Imabana Secondary, Imabana, Abi LGA, St. Paul’s P/S, Nkpura Ndam, Ikom LGA, Community P/S, Yenon, Ugep.
Others include; Government Technical College, Mayne Avenue, Calabar South, PCN Imina, Adadama, Abi LGA, St Andrew’s P/S Ishibori, Ogoja LGA, PCN P/S, Betem, Biase LGA, St Patricks’s P/S, Obudu LGA, Government P/S, Ketabebe, Ugep, Yakurr LGA, Government P/S, Owankande, Obubra LGA, St Peter’s P/S Ebegang, Bekwarra LGA, amongst others.
The exercise is still ongoing.
