The attention of John Upan Odey governorship campaign has been drawn to malicious and fictitious reports making the round that Governor Ben Ayade paid for the nomination form of front line Governorship aspirant of APC, John Upan Odey.
The report is wicked, unfortunate and to say the least, a figment of the wildest imagination of those peddling it. Nothing can be farther from the truth.
We want to put it on record that John Upan Odey who has never been a part of the PDP since he joined active politics in 2010 would not in any way want to sell his party, the APC for any reason.
Odey is a fulfilled banker with assets worth hundreds of millions of naira spread across the country. He paid, processed and has funded his campaign with proceeds from his sweats unlike some aspirants who went into politics without a tricycle but now claiming to be the wealthiest people in the state.
The general public is advised to disregard in totality the rumour as it was created by a certain desperate aspirant from the central senatorial district who is scared of the growing acceptability and popularity of Upan Odey.
We advice this aspirant to clear his name of the allegation hanging on his neck that he is working for Sokoto State Governor and PDP presidential aspirant, Aminu Tambuwal and former Governor Liyel Imoke before sponsoring outright falsehood and campaign of calumny against Upan Odey.
Upan Odey is not in the race to negotiate with anybody but to redeem the name and future of the northern senatorial district that has been so bartered by the unfortunate misrule of the Gov. Ben Ayade administration.
We challenge those spreading the falsehood to show their proofs to the public.
We urge all our supporters to remain calm but focused in taking back our state from those who have continued to put us in the path of retrogression.
