The Cross River state commissioner for Police Mr Hapiz has promised to bring the killers of one Comr Wisdom who was hit by a stray bullet during a political rally in Obudu organized by one of the All progressive Congress governorship candidate Sen John Owan Enoh.
Comrade Emaluji who is a youth activist and advocate for good governance and presently a house of Assembly aspirant in Yala 1 state constituency under the platform of the Social Democratic party, took his grievances to the commissioner of police in the state to demand for a full investigation into the matter and for the perpetrators to be brought to book
While speaking with the commissioner comr Emaluji expressed displeasure at the level of insecurity in some parts of the state and most particularly at the venue of the rally in Obudu on the said day.
He further stated that if the build up to party primaries and general election is already this bloody that the general election will be a full blown war in some parts of the state.
He urged the commissioner of police to provide adequate security before, during and after elections all over the state.
While reacting to the visit and grievances tabled before him, the commissioner thanked Comr Emaluji for proving to be different from most youths and political aspirants who most times are the major causes of this sort if clashes and unwarranted deaths.
He said "Aside being a young man you have proven to be different and visionary, I assure you and all present that the perpetrators of this act will be brought to book as investigation is on going and to this effect I have given the DPO of Obudu 48 hours to bring the perpetrators to book"
Also in attendance was the president of the National Association of Cross River State students worldwide (NACRISS WW) comr Akpanke, he also urged the commissioner to provide adequate security for students and youth Corp members who will be participating in the process of electioneering either as voters, party officials or INEC staff.
Comr Akpanke who expressed his displeasure towards most youths who choose to play with their life instead of guarding it with all manner of seriousness thanked the police commissioner for his reassuring words and promised to work with the police and other security agencies throughout this period and beyond.
