Prince Thomas Abi pays tribute to late Kofi Anan

Voiceofyala.com.ng received a tribute by Prince Thomas Abi jnr a youth advocate for good governance and effective representation, in celebration of the life and times of the late world renowned diplomat and one Tim UN Secretary general Kofi Anan, who died early on Saturday (18/0818).

It Reads: "The amount of wealth you accumulate or acquire is immaterial, what is most important is your ability to touch the lives of many that come in contact with you. When you are long gone, you won't be remembered for your riches, the houses you built or cars you had, your life, and the legacy you left behind is what you will be remembered for".

"The world celebrates Kofi Anan. I won't say the world mourns Anan, he did a lot for humanity. Restoring the human dignity of many and giving hope to the weak through his constant agitation for human rights".

"He conquered his world as the first black man to be the UN Secretary General(1997-2006). For me, that is a great achievement. Which we must strive to emulate".

"This great son of Africa was never tired in championing that education is key in winning the war against poverty and insecurity".

"I am happy that when it was time for the United Nation to be revitalized and repositioned, it was a black man that achieved such great feat.  He paved the way for many blacks, telling the world that it does not matter your skin colour but what matters is your intellectual capacity and what you can do".

"As a peace maker, Anan, restored hope and peace to many countries around the world which saw him winning a peace prize award".

"Africa must rise up and reproduce more Anans, yes , Kofi is gone, but we have many Kofi's in Mbube, Ogoja, Cross River and across Nigeria and Africa".

"The time has come to give hope to that hungry child, that poor girl who got pregnant as a result of one problem or the other".

"The girl child and young people should be the focus. Africa must rise to civil liberty and empower our children to be icons and amazons".

"Go well great son of Africa !"

Prince Thomas Abi Jr.
