Governance is a continuous process which should be sustained as the year goes by and as life unfolds.
Most times in our clan the citizens advice are not taken, maybe its a sign of big governance or neglect of the real place of the masses.
We stumbled upon this great piece written by one of Cross River's most promising talent, whose name once mentioned rings a bell, this was written in 2016 as a way of showing the government viable ways of industrializing Cross River, but this advice as rich as it seems outrightly haven gotten to the right channel or fell on deaf ears? Either way, it's never too late to get a thing done, it only takes zeal and determination.
Below is the well captured script:
"Like I have always said, the best way to go is industralizing CRS. We have all it takes to make our state prosperous for everyone.
The government must key into the following if the state must be industrialized:
1.The first step is for us to Industrialize the
Bekwarra groundnut into vegetable oil.
2. We must look at the salt in Okpoma. Building a salt factory there is very important.
3. The plantain in Biase, Ikom, Boki, and Etung should be industrialized.
4. The cassava in Obubra and other parts of the state should be processed into flour.
5. The fish and crayfish in Bakassi and Calabar should be packaged into Cross River fish and crayfish.
6. We have to key into large scale farming of maize. This would provide made in Cross River cereals for our children and adults alike.
7. The Bansara rice is another avenue we must exploit. We need to produce made in Cross River rice.
8. We have to open the Okuku market. This would develop the five local governments of Cross River North.
9. The state has a fertile soil. We must begin to plant vegetables, tomatoes and water leaf for exportation just like Anambra.
10. The palm oil in Boki should be processed and packaged to Boki Palm Oil and sold across the country.
There is no other way to Industrialize Cross River State than keying in to the above mentioned".
God bless CRS!
Happy new month!
Prince Thomas Abi Jr.
The above mentioned ventures which are untapped oil wells is what many nations live on, why is ours different? This and many more questions require answers, from who, by whom? They know themselves.
